  1. It is an expectation that athletes, coaches and spectators wear a mask while on Barrow County property and follow social distancing guidelines. Athletes do NOT have to wear a mask while racing. Coaches also must screen their athletes (temperature checks and screening questions) prior to getting off the bus at Apalachee High School. This documentation will need to be shown at the coaches check-in tent. We don’t need a copy, just proof you have screened all athletes and coaches.
  2. If you have run at our school in the past, you know the finish and start intersect. We have made modifications to this so that our meet can proceed smoothly with the new guidelines. The practice field will be closed off for parents and spectators. Athletes (in uniform) and coaches will be allowed on the field but that is it. I will need a list of coaches and names as we will have a special tag to provide you. There will be areas for spectators to see both the start and finish but in order for us to be able to host, this change has to be made. The map online shows they intersect as we have not updated it, but start and finish will be on the practice field.
  3.  If your tent does not require stakes or you choose to not use them, you may set up on the TURN FIELD. NO STAKES CAN BE ON THE TURF! Tents will not be allowed in any other location as we are keeping areas clear so social distancing can take place. Turf Rules will be strictly enforced if you chose to set up here. ONLY WATER ALLOWED ON TURF.   No food, drinks or gum. No tobacco products. No sunflower seeds. No molded cleats. Do not DRAG anything, it must be carried or rolled. No carts allowed on field.
  4. Boxes will be assigned as to keep teams in the same area during each race. Some JV teams are larger and will be given more than one box.
  5. Spectators are asked to wear a mask when not social distancing. Please spread out at the start and finish lines.
  6. Mile markers will be placed at the 1 and 2 mile marks. They are slightly different than the map due to the moving of the start line, but a parent has made us some really nice signs that will be in those areas
